For Executors Out of Town

Approve the quote from photos, arrange a key with a neighbor or the realtor, and get pictures as each room empties.

Mark what stays with tape, or gather keepsakes in one room — we only take what’s marked to go.

The Basement Is Usually the Biggest Room

The median house in the City of Pittsburgh was built in 1942, and in neighborhoods like Lawrenceville, Squirrel Hill and Carrick the median sits at 1939 or earlier. Almost all of them have a cellar.

Old Freezers

Chest freezers and dehumidifiers hold refrigerant, so they can’t go to the curb. We carry them up.

Workbenches and Shelving

Built-in-looking benches usually unbolt. Metal shelving comes down in sections.

Basement Pianos

An upright that reached the cellar decades ago can come back up. It’s $290.

Console TVs

Wood-cabinet TVs are common down there and have to be recycled under state law.

Where Estate Work Concentrates

Two kinds of homes fill this calendar. One is the post-war suburb — Penn Hills, where the population nearly doubled between 1950 and 1960, or Bethel Park and Brookline — where original owners are now downsizing. The other is the older river town, like McKeesport or Wilkinsburg, where around fifteen percent of housing stands vacant and heirs or landlords need a house emptied before it can be sold.

Estate Cleanout FAQs

How much does an estate cleanout cost in Pittsburgh?

It’s priced by truck-fill: $241 for a quarter truck up to $732 for a full sixteen-yard load. Large houses with full basements often need more than one.

Can we keep some things?

Of course. Put keepsakes in one room or tag them, and those pieces stay put.

Is usable furniture donated?

Yes. Pieces with life left in them go to donation before anything heads to disposal.

Do you handle a whole basement?

Yes — often the largest part of the job. The stairs are included.

Can you work on a listing deadline?

Yes. Give us the date the house goes on the market and we’ll schedule the clear-out ahead of it.

Do you clean the house afterward?

No, we remove items only. Cleaning is a separate service you’d arrange yourself.

Settling a Family Home?

Room-by-room photos give you one flat, complete price.
