Why a Couch Is Rarely a Curbside Job Here
The City will collect a sofa with regular trash as one of its two weekly bulk items — once it’s at the curb between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m.
Getting it there is the hard part. On the South Side Slopes or Mount Washington, the curb can sit a long run of public steps below the front door; in a Lawrenceville row, the stair is barely wider than the cushions. That carry is what you’re really paying for, and it’s already in our price.
